(1994) He is a Professor of Chemistry and is currently the Department Chair. He earned his B.S., from the University of Missouri, St. Louis and his Ph.D., from Texas Tech University. Dr. Johnston is a trained inorganic/analytical chemist. His research interests are in organometallic chemistry with an emphasis on the development of catalytic systems.

(1978) He is University Professor of Chemistry and Vice President for the Germantown Campus here at Union. He earned his B.S. from Union University and his Ph.D. from University of Illinois. He has acquired additional studies at institutions as University of Florida, Oak Ridge Associated Universities, Argonne National Laboratory, Harvard University and Oxford University (England). He has co-authored two books, "Science and Faith" (2000) and "Designer Universe" (2002). His research interests include the chemistry and kinetics of seven-coordinated transition metals.

(2009) He is a Senior Fellow for the Hammons Center for Scientific Studies and Visiting Professor of Chemistry. He earned his B.S. from Union University and his Ph.D. from the University of Texas at Austin. With a background in industrial chemistry and the management of chemical businesses, Dr. Hayes is the inventor on numerous U.S. and international patents. His research interests are in the behavior of matter at surfaces.

(1998) She is currently a Professor of Chemistry. She earned a B.S. from the University of Arizona; and a Ph.D. from South Dakota State University. Dr. Henrie is a trained organic/analytical chemist. She came to Union with a background in industrial chemistry including positions as: Jr. Research Chemist, Phelps Dodge Corporation; Plant Chemist, Mt. Pleasant Chemical Co.; and Materials Lab Supervisor/Process Engineer, Whirlpool Corporation. Her research interests include dendrimer chemistry and using green chemistry in chemical education.

(1992) She is currently an Associate Professor of Chemistry. She received her M.A. and her B.S. Ed at Northern Arizona University. She earned her D.A, at Middle Tennessee State University. Having taught in middle schools (1971-1985), she has a special interest in the preparation of Science Education majors. Other interests include heavy metal effluents research and consulting services to area schools on chemical inventory reductions, and Chemical Safety/Hygiene training to local businesses.
