PRSSA Annual Conference
The PRSSA National Conference is a five day professional development and networking event where students and practitioners from across the country meet to discuss the field of public relations, new trends in the industry and skill building tactics. This year’s conference is in Philadelphia in November - http://www.prssa.org/conference/2007/. Web Resource

Bateman Competition
The Bateman Competition is a national public relations campaign contest for students who are members of a Public Relations Student Society of America chapter. Students use critical thinking skills to solve a public relations problem or take advantage of a public relations opportunity to create a campaign for a national client. PRSSA chapters from all over the U.S. enter teams that will compete throughout the academic year. The three national finalists travel to a designated location to present their campaign to the client and judges panel. Web Resource

Union University AdFed
The Union University AdFed is affiliated with the West Tennessee Advertising Federation and the American Advertising Federation. It is a professional organization offered to any student interested in the advertising field and who wants opportunities to network and practice advertising skills.

PR Student Trips
Public Relations students take regular trips to attend PRSA chapter meetings in the area, as well as visit alumni working in the field through the PR: Year One program.

PR Internships
Union faculty help students connect with professionals in their fields through internships. Most Public Relations majors complete several internships before graduation. The faculty network continually with professionals around the country to assist students with that perfect intern fit. Recent PR majors have interned at Jive Records in New York, United Way, the Memphis Zoo, EMI Records in Nashville, Lifeway Christian Resources, and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
