Is your program accredited?
Union
University undergraduate program in Engineering with
Concentration in Electrical and Mechanical Engineering is
accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET,
Inc. (www.abet.org)
What is the difference between internships and
cooperative education?
Internships are employment in an industry as an engineering
student during
the shoulder months (Summer and January). It may or may not
continue as part time employment during regular semesters. The
Co-op Program requires an alternate full semester's
employment (For up to 3 semesters including a summer). Students are
not required to participate in any of these two programs.
Engineering education reinforced by industrial experience is
strongly encouraged.
What salary range can I expect for my first job as
an engineer?
The range of average salary is from the $40,000 to the low
$50,000's. The region of the country where the employer is located
can have an affect on starting salaries.
Does the faculty have industry experience?
Yes, every member of the faculty has industry experience as well
as strong research experience in a wide range of technologies,
including:

What assistance is provided student candidates
who are not academically ready?
We require at least pre-calculus and one year of
physics from high school. Students who do not
meet this requirement may take the required courses at Union.
