University Singers is an auditioned, mixed choir that tours annually each spring and internationally every third year. Singers rehearses four times weekly and gives at least three performances each semester. Literature is selected from every time period and style, ranging from a cappella pieces to multimovement works accompanied by orchestra.
Proclamation serves as the public relations ensemble for the Department of Music and Union University. Consisting of 18 auditioned voices, membership of Proclamation is chosen from University Singers and is accompanied by an annual scholarship. This ensemble performs frequently throughout each semester in a wide variety of venues, singing for local congregations as well as national and international dignitaries.
Choral Union is open to all university students and does not require an audition. Rehearsing two days each week, the ensemble performs two concerts each fall and one in the spring, singing music from a wide array of genres and periods.
Opera Workshop presents performances each semester ranging from scenes programs to fully staged productions. Participation is open to upper level vocalists and required for vocal performance majors. Repertoire is chosen from both opera and musical theater.
