Background and Recent Activities
Dr. Mathews came to Union in 2008 after holding the position of Director of Choral Activities at Clemson University, Clemson, South Carolina. Dr. Mathews' areas of expertise include choral conducting and sacred music, as well as music theory and its routine integration into the choral rehearsal. In addition to his work in academics, Dr. Mathews served as Minister of Music at churches in Tennessee, Missouri, Kentucky, and South Carolina.
