Library Environment
An atmosphere conducive to reading and study is maintained at all times.
Students are to cooperate by being quiet and courteous, or they will be asked to
leave the Library. Some areas in the Library are designated for quiet study, and
no talking is allowed. Those desiring to study with one or more individuals are
asked to utilize the group study rooms. A quiet zone is observed immediately
outside the Library for the consideration of those studying inside.

of tobacco in any form is allowed.

great care should be taken to prevent damage to library materials. Patrons are
responsible for throwing away any trash.
Unattended Children
Because of the academic setting of Summar Library, it is essential that all
children under the age of twelve are accompanied and monitored by an adult.
Children who are disruptive to the learning atmosphere of the library will be
asked to stay with the adult; if that proves ineffective, they will be asked to
leave the library. Children of university faculty or staff who prove disruptive
will be referred to the Library Director or the appropriate Dean.
Solicitation and Advertising
Summar Library does not allow any solicitation or advertisement. This includes
but is not limited to placement of fliers and posters on interior and exterior
