How do I find the book in the library?
You must first look at the location of the book. If the book is in the Book Stacks you will find the book in the rear of the library. You must then look at the Call Number of the book. Summar Library catalogs books using the Library of Congress Classification System. The first letter(s) will help you find the general area. The beginning of the Book Stacks shelves start at the right and move to the left. There are call number ranges on the end of the rows to guide you.

If the book I am looking for is not on the shelf what should I do?
First double-check to make sure you are in the correct location site (ie Reference, Book Stacks, Oversize). Then make sure you are looking at the correct call number area. If you are still unable to locate the book, please see the staff member at the circulation desk.

How do I find a journal?
Use Summar Library’s Online Catalog (OPAC) to determine if we carry a specific title. Newer issues (up to 1 year old) will be in the Current Periodicals section. Older issues are shelved alphabetically by title in the Bound Periodicals section.
