Dear Alumni,

This letter is in memory of John Davenport. John was one of our
associates during last semester who did not make his grades and did not
return to Union for the Spring semester. He died unexpectedly on Tuesday
night from a sudden onset of bacterial meningitis. Please be praying for
all the members who were really close to him, and especially for his family.
We will be having a deceased brother ceremony this Sunday night at 9:00 pm
in the house. Though he was never initiated, the majority of us feel that
it is more than appropriate to have. John was a good testimony to the
letters he wore.

In keeping with my goal to tell you guys all the events we currently
have planned, here is just about all of them. Don't forget, in April I am
planning a get together for you guys. Bro. Jason Schultz suggested that it
be a golf scramble, and I really like the idea. Though I don't golf, I am
sure that many of you do. Following that we'll have a cookout for you guys
at the house where the actives will cook for you alumni.
The current scheduled events that we have are:

.March 11 is a party with the theme "Red or Dead" (Come dressed as a Redneck
or a Dead-Head). On March 25 we will be having a service project. It is going to be a
bowlathon. For more on that, contact Bro. Adam Clark at 661-4334. Also on
March 25 will be the annual All-Sing competition. March 31 is our "Gangster's Paradise" party. On April 8 we will be going to the Jackson Habitat for Humanity to work for
a day. Again, give Adam Clark a call if you are interested in that. On April 28 (tentatively) we will be having a campout and doing our road cleanup the next day on our 2 mile section of the 45 bypass. I'll have more on that as it becomes more definite. May 5+6 will be our White Rose Formal/Splash party. The 5th will be Formal, and Splash the next day. A definite location has not been decided yet, but I will have that out as soon as it is known. Just a quick reminder: remember we can't bring alcohol to, or have had alcohol before we go to the house for the parties.

Also, intramural basketball started during the past week and a half.
Team 2(my team) lost big to SAE 1 but we crushed this horrible team called
the "UUBoys". Team 9 (the seniors' team) beat SAE's team 3 soundly, team 3
defeated FCA 5 (it was so bad that Bro. Neal Rager scored a basket for their
team!-on purpose), team 1 lost to FCA 1 (Bro. Preston Brooks hurt his ankle
really badly and may have broken it.) but team 1 did beat ATO 1 in their
next game. These are the games I have been able to keep track of so far.
As always, if there are some things that you guys would like to hear
about, let me know. That is all I have for this week.

Dear Alumni,

Hello once again! I hope everyone had a good week, and it was nice to
see everyone who was able to come Saturday night, I think it was a pretty
good time!

The highlights of the evening included a presentation by Soul Purpose and the awarding of the Rick A. White Jr. Senior Service Award for 1999. The winner (winners in this case because of a tie) were Bros. Bryan Jerry and Rob Dixon. The officers for the year 2000 were also formally installed. At half-time of the men's basketball game verses David Lipscomb University on Monday (which Union won) President Dockery presented our chapter the Grand High Alpha award that we won during 1999. It was just a formality, as we had already received the award.

On a much more serious note, Brother Casey Meek's father passed away
last week. Please remember to pray for Casey this week and be thinking of
him. His phone number is (901) 660-6170 if you would like to offer him a
word of encouragement.

I'd like to ask everyone again to send me things that you want to be
sent out in this newsletter to everyone because I want this newsletter to be
primarily for communication, discussion, and idea sharing between you guys.
The get-together that I am trying to plan for around Founder's Day will have
to be on another weekend (hopefully in April) because we have a community
service project scheduled for that weekend. Also, please send me some ideas
on things that YOU would like to do! Next week I will try to send out a
complete listing of all projects and events that we will be having for the
rest of the semester.

That is about all I have for now, and if you know other Brothers who
are not receiving this mail and should be please send me their addresses,
because I know for sure that not everyone is getting this.

In ZAX,
Bro. J. Jensen
