Philippi, Macedonia, 41 B.C. - 68 A.D. Provincial AE; often associated with the reign of Augustus.

Obverse: VIC AVG, on either side of Victory holding wreath and globe, standing left on base.

Reverse: COHOR PRAE PHIL around three military standards.

Notes: 19 mm - 4.1 gm. “This coin commemorates the battle of Philippi where the last of the conspirators against [Julius] Caesar were defeated…”

Obverse: Partially legible, probably L CEPT K GETAC.  Bare headed, draped and cuirassed bust right, seen from behind.

 Reverse: NIKOPOL[I]TWN  PROC.  Serpent coiled around leg of tripod.
