Professional Biographical Information

Howard Newell is Professor of Business Administration at Union University, Jackson, TN.  Dr. Newell has been at Union since Fall Semester, 1982.  Prior to returning to full-time teaching beginning Spring Semester, 1998, Dr. Newell served--for nine years-- as Union's Academic Vice President/Provost.

Prior to coming to Union, Dr. Newell was Associate Professor of Economics and Assistant Dean/MBA Director in the College of Business and Public Affairs at Murray State University, Murray, KY.

Personal Biographical Information

Howard Newell and his wife Debbie Newell have been married since August, 1973.  They have two children, a married daughter (Allison Burgin) and a son who will start college beginning Fall Semester, 2004.  Howard and Debbie also have two grandchildren, Avigayle Burgin and Jonathan Burgin.
