Alan lives in Jackson, Tenn. where he attends Northside High School. In '96, as a 14 year-old freshman, Alan batted .307 and had an OBP of .470 in limited play. At the conclusion of the high school season he joined the Fire. Prior to this he played in the Dixie Youth organization for five years making the all-stars in '92, '94, and '95. In '94 he helped his team to an undefeated 18-0 season by batting .714 with 10 HRs and 45 RBIs. That year his all-star team finished second in the state. The next year Alan batted .480 with 20 RBIs in the regular season. He then went on to hit .491 with 16 RBIs to help his all-star team win the state 13 year-old tournament and finish second in the world series. Alan also enjoys playing basketball, golfing, and kayaking.
