MSN > Family Nurse Practitioner Track (available on Germantown and Jackson campuses)

As the profession of nursing continues to expand its role in the area of advanced practice nursing, Union University offers a 16-month graduate nursing education curriculum for professional nurses to gain an academic preparation as a Family Nurse Practitioner. The focus of the academic preparation is to serve the community in the areas of adult, pediatric, and women's health Deadline for applying for the educational opportunity is January 15 of each year.

Admission Criteria

  • Previously earned Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree
  • Last 60 hours GPA of 3.0
  • Cumulative science GPA (Anatomy and Physiology 1 and 2, statistics) of 3.0 on 4.0 scale
  • Union University School of Nursing application with $50 application fee
  • Official transcripts from all post-secondary institutions
  • Proof of unencumbered RN license
  • Three letters of professional/academic reference specifying the applicants capabilities for graduate study. One letter of reference must be from the applicant's immediate supervisor.

Required After Admission

  • Clear criminal background check
  • Clear urine drug screen
  • Immunization Records
  • Current CPR Health Care Provider Certification
