Create a three-slide PowerPoint presentation based on the definition and history of Pi:

 

1.   Open PowerPoint. Click either on the New icon (blank page on the far left side of the toolbar) or File—New.

2.   Format—Slide Design. Select a color/design to use. Save in the Scaffolding folder on your USB drive as Scaffolding PPt.

3.   Format—Slide Layout. In the Text Layouts on the right side, select the Title Slide.

4.   Click in the top box on the slide. Enter your name. Highlight your name and change the font, bold, italicize as you desire by clicking on Format—Font. Save.

5.   Click in the bottom box on the slide and enter today’s date.

6.   Click on the New Slide icon in the toolbar. In the Text Layouts, select the Title and Text layout (single bulleted list). Save.

7.   Click in the top box on the slide and type “About Pi.” Adjust the font as you deem appropriate. Save.

8.   Click in the bottom box. List three points that briefly describe Pi. Type point one by the first bullet. Enter. Type the second one. Enter. Type the third one. Adjust the font to fill the box. Save.

9.   Click on the New Slide icon. Under Slide Layout, scroll down on the right side until

you come to Text and Content Layouts. Select one of the layouts.

10. Click in the top box on the slide and type “History of Pi.” Save.

11. Click in the bottom left box. List three brief historical facts about Pi. Type the

      three words as you did above, clicking Enter after each one to move to the next

      bullet. Save.

12. Click in the right box and select the Insert Clip Art icon. Select a clip art.

13. Explore the other layouts for future reference.

14. On the left side of your desktop, single click on Slide 1. Slide Show—Animation

Schemes—select an animation scheme from the list on the right. Save.

15. Click on Slide 2 (on the left). Slide Show—Animation Schemes—select a different

scheme.

16. Click on Slide 3. Repeat process and select a different scheme. Save.

17. Click on Slide 1. Edit—Select All—Slide Show—Slide Transition. Select a

transition that you like or you can select Random Transition (the last one in the list)

for variety each time you view the slide show. Save.

18. Slide Show—View Show. Click your way through your presentation.

19. Print a PPt presentation: click File—Print—Print What—Handouts—Grayscale—

Handouts—Slides per Page—3 (or 6). It’s usually a good idea to check the box before Frame Slides at the bottom. Click the Preview button at the bottom left. Click on the landscape and portrait icons at the top to see the difference. If it’s what you want to print, click the print icon at the top. If you need to edit anything, click Close, returning to the slides layout to make changes.

20. Save the presentation once more to submit in the Assignments feature of this class.
