Microsoft Word Assignment

Follow the directions below to complete your assignment for Microsoft Word.

1.  Open up the following URL  http://www.promotega.org/msc00012/plot.htm.

2.  Under "Elements of Plot," click on each individual element (Exposition, Rising Action, Climax, Resolution) and read the definition for the element.  As you read, write a brief definition of each element on your own paper.  (Note:  We will go over Falling Action, Conflict, and Theme as a class.)

3. Open a new Word document. 

4.  Center the title "Elements of a Plot."  Change the font to Arial and use the 14 point size.  Underline the title.

5.  Input your elements and definitions in the document.  Your font should be Arial and use the 12 point size.  You should bold the names of each actual element.  Double space between each element.

6.  Save your document to a floppy disk.  Use your last name as the file name.

7.  Open up the following URL http://gaslight.mtroyal.ab.ca/mnkyspaw.htm.  Read the short story "The Monkey's Paw" by W. W. Jacobs.

8.  Open up the following URL http://www.marcopolosearch.org/mpsearch/basic_search.asp?orgn_id=9.  Do a search for "Plot Graphic Organizer."  Limit subjects to Language Arts and the grade level to all.

9.  Click on the Plot Graphic Organizer by number 3.  Print the Plot Diagram and complete it for the story "The Monkey's Paw."
