Dr. Deschenes is a clinical psychologist with over 20 years experience. He received his doctorate from Biola University in California and undergraduate degree from the University of Florida. Dr. Deschenes received special training in Christian counseling while at Biola University. He has previously worked at Pathways in Jackson.

Dr. Deschenes is married with two children and attends West Jackson Baptist Church. He enjoys family time, sports, canoeing, camping and woodworking.

Students may schedule a counseling appointment by calling 731-661-5322 or by e-mailing Dr. Deschenes at pdeschen@uu.edu. Walk-ins are accepted based on availability of the counselor at the time.

The goal of Counseling Services is to promote total student development by assisting students in realizing and attaining full potential. Particular emphasis is placed on opportunities which foster emotional, social and spiritual development.
