Servant Leadership

Local Service

Since 2007, on Campus & Community Day, a campus-wide day of community service, MOSAIC has served at Mission Convalescent Home, and elder care facility in East Jackson; the Jackson-Madison County Humane Society, and Arlington International Leadership Elementary School.

Students assist the staff of these organizations with cleaning duties, playing games or reading with the residents or students.

Campus Service

MOSAIC students have also had numerous opportunities to serve in leadership positions across campus as Residents Advisors, as Student Ambassadors, on the Student Activities Council, in Student Government, on the Preview Day Panel, in Chapel, on GO Trips, and many other areas.

A unique way to gain invaluable experience at Union is to become a Servant Leader through the Servant Leadership Program (SLP). Many students can help defray the costs of their education by working through the Servant Leadership Program at Union University which employs students who are eligible for Federal Work Study (FWS) as a top priority as well as Union University Workship (UUWS). Factors considered in matching students with jobs include the skills and experience of the student, the availability of a suitable position, and in most cases financial eligibility of the student, as determined by the Free Application for Federal Student Aid. However jobs are sometimes limited, therefore eligibility does not guarantee employment on campus. Any questions concerning the Servant Leadership Program: On-Campus Student Employment can be directed to the Vocatio Center for Life Calling and Career.
