Cardinal & Cream
The Cardinal & Cream is the official campus news source of Union University. The student-run website is available to students, faculty, staff and administration free of charge. The C&C magazine is a bi-annual publication of the Cardinal & Cream, which highlights people, opportunities and events on Union's campus with more in-depth feature articles and photo essays. The C&C magazine was named the best college magazine in the South three of the four years it has been in publication and earned first place for public service journalism at the 2015 Southeast Journalism Conference.
The Cardinal & Cream is written and edited by students under the guidance of a faculty adviser. Staff positions are provided for students who are interested in the field of journalism. Students within other departments are encouraged to join the staff as well. The campus newspaper enhances students' experience in writing, layout, editing, photography, advertising and journalism administration.
An editorial board works closely with the advisers and oversees the publication. This newspaper holds membership in Associated Collegiate Press, Southeastern Journalism Conference and the Society for Collegiate Journalists. The Cardinal & Cream was named the best college newspaper in the South at the Southeast Journalism Conference in 2011 and has placed in the top 10 seven of the last eight years.
