Department of Communication Arts

Speak Truth. Shape Culture.

From journalism and film to public relations and digital media, the Department of Communication Arts prepares students to communicate with both professional skill and Christian conviction — in a world that desperately needs both.

Seven people stand outdoors on grass in front of a brick building, smiling and holding open magazines or brochures related to Communication Arts, displaying the pages towards the camera.
A person in a striped shirt and jeans stands next to a professional video camera on a set—perfect for Digital Media Studies—with a blue chair, tan couch, white backdrop, and visible studio lights and cables in the background.

Ethos

This generation is listening. We're preparing people worth hearing.

We live in a media landscape that is louder, faster, and more polarized than at any point in history — and the people shaping it need to be people who tell the truth. At Union, we believe that communication is not just a profession but a calling — that a genuine love for others and a commitment to expressing truth honestly and well is exactly what the world needs from the next generation of journalists, filmmakers, storytellers, and communicators. We exist to form those people — and send them into every room where the story is being told.
