The Essentials: Core Competencies for Professional Nursing Education outline the necessary curriculum content and expected competencies of graduates from baccalaureate, master’s, and Doctor of Nursing Practice programs (AACN, 2021).

The BSN degree program has three tracks, MSN degree program has four tracks, Post-Graduate Certificate has four tracks, and the DNP degree program has four tracks. The BSN tracks include the accelerated, traditional, and RN-BSN. The MSN tracks include Nursing Education; Nursing Administration; Family Nurse Practitioner; and Family Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. The Post-Graduate Certificate tracks include Nursing Education, Nursing Administration, Family Nurse Practitioner, and Family Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. The DNP tracks include Nurse Anesthesia, Family Nurse Practitioner, Family Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, and Executive Leadership.

Union University is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) to award associate, baccalaureate, masters, educational specialist, and doctoral degrees. Degree-granting institutions also may offer credentials such as certificates and diplomas at approved degree levels. The College of Nursing is fully approved by the Tennessee Board of Nursing (reaccredited until informed of next onsite visit). The Doctor of Nursing Practice in Nurse Anesthesia hold a specialty accreditation with the Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs (COA), 222 S. Prospect Ave., Park Ridge, IL, 60068, (847) 655-1160 and is fully accredited until 2032.
