Department Graduates 7

Posted May 20, 2015

This past weekend, seven political science graduates walked across the stage and received their diplomas. During their time here, they have been active in the department, fraternity and sororities, community outreach activities, and Union athletics. We have been blessed to have them here and wish them the best as they begin new phases in their lives.

Kayla Ketner of Cookeville, TN served two terms as president of Pi Sigma Alpha, the political science honor society and was one of the department's first graduates in discipline specific honors. This fall, she will begin her MA in International Affairs at the University of Georgia.

Bree McCuin of Jackson, TN was another of the department's discipline specific honors graduates. She has spent the past few years working at the Madison County Juvenile Court. After marrying Charles Snow this summer, she will move to Arizona and teach for Maryvale Prep in Glendale, AZ where she will work to keep students from underprivileged backgrounds from entering the juvenile court system.

Adam McCravy of Jackson, TN will continue his work with YoungLife. After serving in various volunteer positions over the past few years, he will marry this summer and then begin work as a YoungLife associate in Williamson County.

Yumi Miyazaki of Tokyo, Japan will graduate and then marry Union and PSC alum Andrew Thomas the folowing week. She has been offered a job by Toyota and can hopefully begin as soon as she receives her green card.

Sarah Carroll of Dyer, TN is moving from working in Financial Aid to Union to a full-time job as an enrollment counselor for Union. Her unstated goal is to recruit at least 10 political science majors each year.

Josselynne Bustillo of Jackson, TN has been a member of Chi Omega the past four years and is taking a year off to work before heading to law school.

Ben Hall of Jackson, TN spent the past four years on the cross country team and is taking a year off before heading off to law school.
