Union University’s Department of Music is joining with the Ryan Center for Biblical Studies to present a worship event for the whole community. Open to the public. Guest Novelist Reading: Bret Lott

Location: SUB, Harvey Aud. (LR-22)

Union University will host a reading featuring guest novelist Bret Lott, Thursday, April 24, 2014. The reading will begin at 7:30 p.m. in Harvey Auditorium and conclude with a book signing. Lott is a professor of English at The College of Charleston. He is the author of fourteen books, most recently the essay collection Letters and Life: On Being a Writer, On Being a Christian (2013) and the novel Dead Low Tide (2012); other books include the bestselling novels Jewel, an Oprah Book Club pick, and A Song I Knew by Heart. His work has appeared in, among other places, The Yale Review, The New York Times, The Georgia Review and in dozens of anthologies. Lott has served as Fulbright Senior American Scholar and writer-in-residence to Bar-Ilan University in Tel Aviv, Israel; has spoken on Flannery O’Connor at The White House; and is a member of the National Council on the Arts. He and his wife live in Hanahan, South Carolina.
