New and returning student athletes (soccer and volleyball) who are living on campus will check in at McAfee Commons Building (located in the Heritage First Year Experience Complex) on Monday, August 8 between 9:00am and 11:00am.
As a preview to Focus (new student orientation for all students), Union hosts a special orientation luncheon that provides early arrival student athletes and parents an opportunity to meet key personnel involved in the success of each athlete. The orientation lunch for soccer and volleyball players and their families will be from 11:30am - 12:30pm in the Carl Grant Events Center located on the west end of the Barefoot Student Union Building.
We realize that many of you will begin unpacking and moving in prior to the luncheon, so please feel free to dress informally (shorts, jeans, t-shirts, tennis shoes, etc.) We want you to feel comfortable for our time together over food and fellowship!
In addition to hearing from key administration, faculty and staff, the new student athletes will be welcomed by upperclassman athletic leaders and have an opportunity to touch base with their coaching staff. New students will have the opportunity to continue to get settled into residence life following the luncheon.
In addition to this lunch, parents of all students, including new athletes are welcome to attend our opening welcoming session and parent’s sessions held on August 19th beginning at 3:45pm in the Chapel. (.pdf of schedule)
The cost of this luncheon and orientation is free for all new soccer and volleyball players and their families.
