Fab Five Graduate

Posted May 5, 2026

This year, the Department graduated five outstanding students. Three had a 4.0 GPA and another graduated Summar Cum Laude with a 3.93 GPA

Eva Isom, of Minneapolis, MN, Eva has been an outstanding student who graduated with a 4.0 GPA, won the Best Senior Thesis Award, and is the co-winner of the department's Outstanding Major Award. She studied abroad in Hungary in the Spring of 2025 and used her experience to write her senior thesis. Multiple law schools, like the University of Illinois, Minnesota, and Wisconsin, have offered her admission. UI offered her a full-tuition scholarship to attend, while law schools offered large scholarships. We look forward to Eva making a difference wherever she goes.

Jack Brady, aka Mr. President, From Jackson took on the challenge of running as a presidential candidate in Dr. Evans' Political Parties class. Jack did better than he expected and gained confidence in his ability to make speeches and do well in a debate. While the experience reaffirmed that he does not want to run for office, he will spend the next few years working in politics. After working for Mike Pence's Advancing American Freedom think tank and Madison County Mayor A.J. Massey, he will work on Marsha Blackburn's gubernatorial campaign this summer and fall. Jack was the co-winner of the Outstanding Major Award from the department, best thesis in American politics, and the 2025 winner of the Wilberforce Award for Civic Engagement.

Jacob Little, of Raleigh, NC, is a co-winner of the John Burgess Award (named after the first American political scientist). Jacob has been an outstanding student and double majored in Comm Arts. He spent over three years on the debate team and was one of their star performers. He spent his summers shaping young people for Christ at WinShape Camps. He was also president of his fraternity. He will start a job as an Associate Account Executive for Vekada in Tampa this fall.

Katie Mullins, of Cottonwood, TN, was the winner of this year's Wilberforce Award for Civic Engagement. During her time at Union, she has been involved with TPUSA, the Forge Leadership Network, and Concerned Women for America. She also takes every opportunity to network with Republicans in TN and conservatives around the country as is our Networker-in-Chief! She graduated in three years, built political networks in TN and across the country, and will be interning at the Heritage Foundation this summer.

Sarah Grace, of Franklin, TN, is a co-winner of the John Burgess Award for Meritorious Work in Political Science and won the award for best paper in International Relations. She is a double major in English and served as the editor of The Torch this past year. She hopes to find a job in journalism, where she can combine her writing skills and interest in politics.
