Trustees honor departing members, celebrate Lady Bulldogs’ Final Four run
September 5, 2025 - Union University trustees during their Sept. 4-5 meeting on the Union campus recognized the service of three men ending their board tenure and celebrated the success of the Lady Bulldogs basketball team. Janney to deliver Carls-Schwerdfeger History Lectures Oct. 6
September 5, 2025 - Caroline Janney, the John L. Nau III Professor of the American Civil War at the University of Virginia, will be the speaker for the 28th annual Carls-Schwerdfeger History Lectures at Union University Oct. 6. Janney will deliver two lectures. Her first lecture, “When the Monuments Went Up: The Long Fight over Civil War Memory,” will begin at 2 p.m. in the Carl Grant Events Center. Skrmetti to speak at Union’s Constitution Day lecture
September 4, 2025 - Tennessee Attorney General Jonathan Skrmetti will deliver Union University’s annual Constitution Day lecture Sept. 17 in the Carl Grant Events Center. Skrmetti began an eight-year term as attorney general in 2022. Prior to his current role, he served as chief counsel to Gov. Bill Lee and as chief deputy attorney general to his predecessor, Tennessee Attorney General Herbert Slatery. Pulaski man credits Union pharmacy students with saving his life after diabetes scare
August 28, 2025 - When Johnny Pruitte, of Pulaski, Tennessee, walked into the diabetes workshop led by Union University pharmacy professor Bethany Murphy and Union pharmacy students, he didn’t think much about it. He even chose to skip the free glucose test they offered. A year later, in the summer of 2024, Union students returned for another diabetes workshop. This time he decided to participate. August 27, 2025 - Clint Pressley, president of the Southern Baptist Convention and senior pastor of Hickory Grove Baptist Church in Charlotte, North Carolina, told Union University students Aug. 27 that the start of a new semester is the right time to reconsider one central truth: God’s sovereignty is trustworthy. SBC President Pressley to preach in Union chapel Aug. 27
August 26, 2025 - Clint Pressley, president of the Southern Baptist Convention and senior pastor of Hickory Grove Baptist Church in Charlotte, North Carolina, will preach in chapel at Union University Aug. 27. A Charlotte native, Pressley joined Hickory Grove as a teenager before earning a Bachelor of Arts from Wofford College and a Master of Divinity from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. Pursue knowledge of God, Oliver urges Union students
August 25, 2025 - Knowing God is essential to how Christians live their lives, Union University President Samuel W. “Dub” Oliver said Aug. 22. “God is knowable,” Oliver said. “We can have knowledge of him. We can have saving knowledge.
