Pharmacy Early Admissions Program (PEAP)

On Tuesday, November 11, 2014, we welcomed more Union University undergraduate students as part of our Pharmacy Early Admissions Program (PEAP). This was a great time of fellowship and learning. The Director of Pharmacy Admissions, Kristina Martin, spent some time reviewing the progression criteria of the program and answering questions from the students. Student Ambassadors, Brittany Reeves (P3) and Tucker Phillips (P4), enjoyed time with the students discussing class preparation and a "Day in the Life of a Pharmacy Student." The PEAP students then spent time with their Pharmacy Mentor, Dr. Kim Jones or Dr. Blake Watkins. The mentor portion of the program is a way for the students to have a SOP faculty member available to them to answer questions about Pharmacy as a career or any other questions they may have as they move through their undergraduate courses. The PEAP students also have the opportunity to be partnered with a Student Ambassador throughout their undergraduate years. The evening ended with a tour of Providence Hall, home to our School of Pharmacy.

The purpose of PEAP is to recruit highly qualified, talented students early in their college careers and to streamline their admission to the Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) program at Union University. Students admitted to Union University as freshman automatically qualify. PEAP guarantees admission to the School of Pharmacy, pending successful adherence to progression criteria. Notification of interest in PEAP should be given to the School of Pharmacy Office of Admissions no later than October 15th. Registration is critical as space is limited. Benefits of the program, eligibility, progression criteria and more information may be found at www.uu.edu/pharmacy/peap/.

Class of 2019

Interviews are in full swing for the Class of 2019. This class will begin this Fall 2015 with a group of very energetic and eager students. In April, we will hold our annual Kickoff for the new class. This is a very fun and informative day for the new class to learn more about their first year and to get to know their classmates. A Kickoff Committee, comprised of many current P1 students, will lead many events for the day, answer questions, help relieve any jitters and show them around the city. Kickoff is always a helpful day for the new students to begin preparing for the fall! Speaking of the fall semester, it will be here before we know it. Preparations will begin very soon for their first week. The White Coat Ceremony will be held soon after classes begin, so watch for details to come soon. Please join us in praying for this class as they prepare to begin this journey.

Class of 2020

Very soon after seating the Class of 2019, we will begin accepting applications for the Class of 2020. The application process will open mid-July 2015. Interview Days will begin in mid-September. Applicants are encouraged to apply early, as space is limited, and applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis until the class is filled. The School of Pharmacy admits only one class per year in the fall semester. For more information on applying to the UUSOP, please visit the SOP Admissions page.
