- Dr. Kim Jones, Assistant Dean of Student Services and Associate Professor of Pharmacy Practice, was installed as the 2014-2015 Secretary/Treasurer of the Tennessee Society of Pharmacists (TSP) at the 127th Annual Convention of the Tennessee Pharmacists Association (TPA) held in Hilton Head, South Carolina. During the TPA Annual Convention, Dr. Jones was presented with the Tennessee Pharmacists Association "Young Pharmacist of the Year Award" sponsored by Pharmacists Mutual Insurance Company established to encourage newer pharmacists to participate in Association and community activities and to annually recognize one such professional who takes initiative, shows leadership and has a unique talent for patient care. Dr. Jones was also appointed as the Vice Chair for the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists Council on Education and Workforce Development (CEWD). This is her second year on the CEWD.
- Dr. Kent Stoneking is participating this year in the Academic Leadership Fellows Program (ALFP) through American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy. He will complete the program this July.
Certifications and Scholarship
- Dr. Lauren Peyton received her board certification in ambulatory care pharmacy (BC-ACP)
- In November, Dr. Bethany Murphy's article, "Evaluation of Jamaican Knowledge of Diabetes and Health Beliefs" was published in the Christian Journal for Global Health. This paper was a joint effort with clinical pharmacy faculty from Cedarville University School of Pharmacy.
Births
Dr. Deidra Easley and her husband Jeremy welcomed daughter Aubrey Lane Easley on September 20, 2014.
Dr. Brad Spencer, his wife Karie, and daughter Kinsley welcomed Adelyn Claire into their family on January 23, 2015.
