What Our Students Are Saying...
- Gary Williams, Corporate Sales Director
Having earned my B.S. degree gives me an unparalleled sense of pride and accomplishment. I have been working for, and with Fortune 500 Companies for the past 25 years. I now have the educational credentials to supplement my practical work experience. Coupling education and experience is my recipe for continued success in a highly competitive marketplace. The sacrifices made, pale in comparison to the sense of accomplishment that I now enjoy.
- Chad Conger, Director of Media & Communications
I always regretted not completing my degree in the traditional way. However, the BSOL degree program erased all that regret. The faculty shared their life and work experiences to help students learn in a non-traditional, yet completely engaging way. The BSOL degree program has better equipped me to serve in my current position and has poised me for future success. I enjoyed my Union University experience so much that I am now working toward a Master of Christian Studies at Union!
- Jessica Emerson, Subcontracts and Licensing Administrator
Several times in my life I thought completing my college degree was an impossible goal. With a child and a full-time job I didn't know how I would fit college into my schedule; yet, the goal was always in the back of my mind. Union University provided the avenue I needed to meet that goal. The staff, the curriculum, the schedule, and the endless supply of assistance, information, and encouragement made returning to college not only a possibility, but a joy. Completing my degree at Union University has been one of the most wonderful and fulfilling blessings in my life.
- Chris Berryman, Area Manager, Nissan Manufacturing
I highly recommend the BSOL program for the people who are serious about furthering their education, but have the challenges of family and careers. Make no mistake you will earn this degree. I was impressed at how the program not only used academic professors but professionals as well. You not only learn theory, but real life application you can use. The BSOL program will equip you with the tools needed to succeed. Many companies today are looking for a degree and experience and it was the combination of both that got me the position of area manager at Nissan manufacturing.
- Kendra BeDen, Academic Secretary, Honors Community, Union University
- Tony Stowe, Sergeant first class
Being promoted in my career field within the military continues to be the motivating factor in my decision to continue my education. Granted, I had earned my Associates degree while abroad but the time had come where that meager beginning wasn't enough to be competitive, much less be promoted, in either the military or civilian workforce. I had to take action but to be honest, returning to an academic school environment was more frightening to me than when I realized I was stepping off of a plane into a warzone.
Luckily for me, the first program that I considered was the BSOL program with Union University and the outstanding Union staff was a God-send. Hands down, Mr. Carroll Griffin single-handedly convinced me to commit myself to the program and his unmatched enthusiasm and motivation gave me the confidence to succeed while at Union.
Where does one begin to say thank you? I will close by saying that I was the only person holding me back from completing my degree – I was my worst enemy. The BSOL program has the right environment to appeal to any lifestyle as it will bend to ensure that those who apply themselves will be successful with Union's Adult degree program.
"There's nothing more difficult than saying goodbye to a house where you've suffered." - Vasily Grossman, Life and Fate
- Stacy Scoggins, Human Resources Coordinator
In October 2012, after years of contemplation, I made the life-changing decision to return to college to complete my degree. In February 2013, after countless hours of prayer, God directed me in making yet another life-changing decision.....this time with my career. Little did I know that Union’s BSOL program would offer a curriculum completely in sync with my new position as a Human Resources Coordinator and equip me with the proper tools to be effective in that role. The administrative staff of Union’s Adult Studies program made my transition back into the classroom seamless, simple—and most importantly—enjoyable! My courses were taught by extraordinary professors who offered keen business and leadership insight based on biblical principles. Union’s faculty and staff truly care about the success of their students, understand the struggles adult students face, and will do everything in their power to assist in fulfilling educational dreams. I cannot imagine having a better experience anywhere else!
- Kerry Springer, Field Account Executive II - TN, CDW
Completing my undergraduate degree had been a goal of mine for many years. The BSOL program at Union University's Hendersonville campus was exactly what I needed to get across the finish line. The curriculum was relevant and addressed many of the challenging issues faced in today's business climate. The unique design of the program enables students with full-time jobs and other obligations outside of the classroom to successfully complete a degree. Obtaining a degree, coupled with my work experience, has provided me with enhanced career opportunities for many years to come.
- Shaolu McLaren, Chinese Language Teacher at Donelson Christian Academy, and Director of Little Eagle Chinese Dance Academy
I came to the States ten years ago from China and it’s always been my dream to complete my university degree. Donelson Christian Academy, where I teach Chinese language, gave me the opportunity by providing me with tuition support, and Union University has given me a Christian foundation along with my education. Being able to attend the extension campus in Hendersonville has also made it convenient for me. The staff at Union University has been helpful in every way whenever I needed it, and the faculty members are top notch. I am so blessed.
- William Douglass, Pastor and Credit Union Manager
As a husband, father of seven, full- time pastor and Credit Union manger, I thought I would never find time to finish my degree. I knew that not only did I need to go back to school, but I owed it to myself to go back. Union University goes above and beyond their mission. The instructors’ high standards have helped me reach farther than I imagined. My experience at Union has been life changing, and I would strongly recommend the BSOL program at Union to anyone considering it in their future.
