Christie Manasco Pawley was born December 19, 1969 in Amory, Mississippi. She attended Becker Elementary School and graduated from Hatley High School in 1988. Christie attended Mississippi State University where she was a member of Delta Delta Delta and majored in accounting and pre-nursing. She transferred to the Univeristy of South Alabama where she graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor of science in nursing in 1993. Christie later attended Union University where she graduated with a master of science in nursing education in 2003.
Christie's clinical experience includes medical-surgical nursing, surgical-trauma ICU nursing, home health and hospice care, and oncology nursing. In addition to teaching at Union, she is employed as a staff nurse on the oncology unit at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
Christie is a member of the Nu Lambda chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International, the American Nurses Association and the Tenneesse Nurses Association.
Christie is married to Cliff Pawley who is also employed at Union Univeristy as the Program Director of Athletic Training. They have one daughter, Bethany, who is a second grader at Jackson Christian School.
