Bio:

Nancy Dayton was born to Lang and Jean Dayton in Towanda, PA. She attended grades K-12 in Towanda. After debating between attending Art school or Nursing school, Nancy earned a BSN at Duke University in Durham, N.C.

She married and has two adult children, Mark Dayton Herron and Deborah Herron Malone. Mark Herron M.D. is a dermatologist in Montogemry AL. He is married to Fairlie Scott Herron. Deborah Malone is a prosecutor in Knoxville, TN. She is married to Bryan Malone. Her grandchildren Ellie Herron, Vivian Herron, Drew (Andrew) and Maggie (Maragret Elizabeth) Malone are very precious to her. After starting to teach at Union in the A.S.N. program, she returned to school for her M.S.N. in 1981. As a B.S.N. faculty member, she earned a M.S. (curriculum) from U.M. Nancy transferred to the Union University campus at Baptist Memorial Hospital in 1989 and completed her Ed.D. in 1992.

Dr. Dayton’s nursing practice has included experience with the staff nursing with The PA. Dept of Health; cardiac – medical surgical nursing; mental health nursing and working in a physician's’office. Dr. Dayton is an active member of Germantown United Methodist Church, has helped as a lay pastor with hospital visitation and divorce recovery and a prayer ministry.
