Bio:
Dr. Hickey is a native of North Little Rock, AR. She earned a BSN and MNSc from The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock. Her nursing specialty is psychiatric/mental health nursing. She also earned an Ed.D. with a major in counseling from The University of Memphis in Memphis, TN.
Dr. Hickey worked as a staff nurse, nursing supervisor, and clinical nurse specialist (psych) at the Veterans Administration Hospital in North Little Rock for ten years prior to becoming a nurse educator.
Dr. Hickey has a special interest in clients with cancer. She has been a member of research teams focusing on oncology nursing stress at St. Jude Childrens' Research Hospital.
Dr. Hickey currently teaches the following courses in the BSN and MSN tracks at UUSON:
