Campus Ministries

Some might ask "Why would a Christian college have Campus Ministry? With all that goes on in the classroom, as well as throughout campus life, isn't campus ministry already taking place on the Christian campus?" This is a valid question. At Union University, spiritual priority is not something that is relegated to one aspect of the campus or one office on the campus. In fact, spiritual life is not something that is divided or opposed to the academic or social life of the student. It is a part of the entire Christian educational process that one experiences while at Union. Union University is about ministry-the ministry of Christian higher education!

The specific role of campus ministry at Union is to continuously work at creating and cultivating a climate on campus which is conducive to the University's mission. Regardless of students' particular areas of study (arts, sciences, business, etc.), campus ministry seeks to meet students where they are in their relationship with God and help them take the next step toward a life that connects fully with God's global purpose. While there are certainly many Christian activities sponsored by campus ministry at Union, our desire is for students to move beyond the mere participation in Christian events to the growth and development of their Christian Worldview. This development often takes place through a student's involvement in activities such as Bible studies, small groups, short-term work projects, or international missions experiences. However during their time at Union, campus ministry serves as a link, helping students make the connections between faith, learning, and living that are essential for the Christian life.

The Christian University serves to encourage the development of a Christian Worldview in the life of the student. Avenues for this development to take place are many at Union. Whether you are a graduate student or an undergraduate student, Campus Ministry provides students with hands-on opportunities to connect what they are learning on campus with their love for God and their everyday life. As you look through the Campus Ministries website, you will see opportunities and programs designed to give you a greater understanding of who God is and who He has created you to be.
