Higher Education

Melinda ClarkeHistorically, higher education is something America "does right." While the United States is internationally recognized for its role in the higher education arena, the landscape is ever changing. From controlling costs to increasing accessibility, the challenges are diverse and complex. Institutional mission can serve as a compass as more colleges and universities seek to effectively engage with issues such as research, scholarship, strategic planning, learning outcomes and accountability. Where do Christian colleges and universities find themselves in the current debate? How should the distinct mission and purpose of faith based institutions change the way they operate? We will watch with interest as these issues unfold and will strive to provide insights involving both research and practice for those serving in higher education.
