3rd Annual Regional Research ConferenceJune 22, 2009 - The 3rd Annual Regional Research Conference will be held on Friday, July 24, on the campus of Union University, Germantown. The theme for the 2009 conference encompasses Education for the 21st Century: Self-Directed and Accountable. Registration begins at 8:00 a.m. and the Opening Session begins at 8:30 a.m. The cost is $10.00 and includes a continental breakfast. Dr. Dianne Morgan, Associate Professor of Education at Union University will give the plenary keynote address entitled 21st Century Education: More than Strategies & Technology. Dr. Morgan’s expertise includes how culture shapes engagement in learning, language development/acquisition, as well as early childhood development. She received her Bachelor of Science and Master of Arts Degrees from The University of Texas at Austin in the areas of Deaf Culture and Education. She earned the Ph.D. at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in Educational Psychology studying human development and engaged learning. A series of Concurrent Sessions will follow until noon.
