Part Time Youth Director at Oak Grove Baptist Church

Description:
The primary responsibility is to pray, plan and direct ministries for 7th through 12th grade youth consistent with the OGBC Youth Mission Statement and the Oak Grove Baptist Church’s Mission Statement.

Qualifications, Character Traits, Experiences and Skills 1. Must be a born-again believer in Jesus Christ. 2. Must be a member of OGBC or join within sixty (60) days of employment. 3. Must have previous experience working with youth and in youth ministries. 4. Must be skilled in leading youth to make eternal commitments to Jesus Christ and the Church. 5. Must successfully pass a background check. 6. Post-secondary education will be a plus.

Expectations 1. Disciplined life of daily fellowship with God through prayer and Bible Study. 2. Transfer of that disciplined life of daily fellowship with God to the youth. 3. Promote and teach Biblical values for living in a secular society. 4. Able to work independently and in team situations efficiently and effectively for Youth Ministries. 5. Expected to multi-task, analyze and resolve issues, plan and organize events, communicate with all levels at OGBC, and remain calm under stress.

Job Duties 1. Advocate, roll model, spiritual mentor, and encourager for the youth. 2. Motivate parents of youth to participate in all youth ministries. 3. Available to teach youth in weekly Sunday School as needed. 4. Plan and conduct weekly Youth Discipleship Training. 5. Plan and conduct weekly Wednesday Night Youth Worship. 6. Supervise all Youth activities recruiting adult supervision as needed. 7. Plan, organize, and coordinate Youth camps, trips, and fellowships. 8. Attend Church Council, Youth Committee, and Staff meetings as scheduled. 9. Available for counseling of youth and/or youth parents. 10. Lock-up all Youth areas after all Youth functions including Sunday School, Discipleship Training and Youth Worship. 11. Responsible for tidying up all areas used in Youth Functions.

Responsibility and Accountability The Part-Time Youth Director reports directly to the Senior Pastor and works with him in planning and directing the youth ministries. This position also coordinates with all Church staff and committees in planning, scheduling and directing the youth ministries. This position is held accountable by being under the spiritual authority of the Senior Pastor.
