Union University seeks a qualified individual for the full-time, tenure track Faculty Position in the Department of Language (Spanish). Rank assignment commensurate with education/experience.
***NOTE: This position begins Fall 2010.

Position Description:
Responsibilities include teaching a range of courses from elementary language through advanced-level Spanish literature and culture courses with opportunities for teaching in the Applied Linguistics program. Teaching load is twelve hours per semester.
Qualifications:
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Master’s degree. Preference will be given to candidates with the Ph.D. and specialization in linguistics or Peninsular literature. Candidates should demonstrate a willingness to lead and coordinate study abroad programs, an ability to work in a collegial setting with other department members on curriculum development and a desire to be a part of a growing interdisciplinary program in language, literature and culture studies. The candidate should exhibit a strong commitment to excellence in undergraduate teaching, scholarship and service.
Successful candidates must be professing Christians who are active members of a local church, enthusiastically support Union University’s Identity, Mission and Core Values, and articulate a Christian worldview in their work and life.
