The Office for Disability Services welcomes you to Union University. Our office has been charged with the responsibility of ensuring equal opportunity for all qualified students with documented disabilities in compliance with Section 504 of the Federal Rehabilitation Act of 1973, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) of 1990 and the ADA Amendments Act of 2008. The Office for Disability Services provides or coordinates a range of accommodations that meet the individual needs of a student, according to the impact of the specific disability. Our Mission

The Office for Disability Services seeks to provide equal access to all academic and social opportunities at Union University, for qualified students with documented disabilities, through reasonable accommodations.

Our Vision

The vision of the Office for Disability Services is to provide eligible students with disabilities the equal access needed to participate in all campus programs, while fostering character development and a Christian community, in the midst of an academically rigorous environment.

Our Objectives

  1. Provides students with documented disabilities, who qualify through the Office for Disability Services at Union University, equal access to academic and social opportunities through reasonable accommodations.
  2. Creates an atmosphere where students with disabilities acquire the needed skills and confidence to self-disclose and self-advocate in an academic, social, or work environment.
  3. Works with students with disabilities to ensure that they have the needed life skills, including proper study skills, to succeed inside and outside the Union University community.
  4. Supports the work of the faculty by ensuring that reasonable accommodations are properly and effectively administered without compromising the academic integrity of Union University.
  5. Provides programing and information to students, faculty, staff, and families that increase awareness of disability issues and the accommodation process.
