Please note that students must be registered for Fall classes and sign up in groups of four to be guaranteed a Fall placement with your requested roommates. If you do not have a group of four please read the Residence Life FAQ and visit the Union Roommate Matching group on Facebook for assistance with finding roommates. Please have your Housing Request form submitted by May 6th. Failure to do so may cause a delay in your housing placement and may make it harder to try to meet your preferences.
All students must be registered for Fall classes before signing up for Fall housing. If you are not registered for Fall classes and you sign up for housing, your entire room will not be placed until all roommates are registered. Again, you and your roommates' housing request will not be completed until all four roommates are registered for Fall classes.
If you are unable to register for classes, please email the Office of Residence Life at reslife@uu.edu before housing sign-ups with your expected registration date and the reason for a delayed registration.
Union's housing policy states that every student must live on-campus for the Fall and Spring semesters unless he/she is 21 years old prior to Sept. 1 of that academic year, married, a part-time student, living with parents, or has extremely rare circumstances of which the Appeals Committee must review and grant approval.
The Housing Contract that each student signs when moving on-campus for the Fall semester is a legal and binding contract for the full academic year - both Fall and Spring semesters. Students will be held to the Housing Contract and therefore will not be able to make changes to their housing assignment after submitting their housing request or move rooms at semester unless approved by the Director of Residence Life.
Each student desiring to live off-campus must complete an Off-Campus Request form and wait for approval/denial by the Appeals Committee before finalizing their off-campus arrangements.
All residential students will be assigned the 100 Block meal plan. Students can purchase an additional supplemental meal plan if needed.
Students can sign up to add meals to their accounts at Union Station. Meals can be purchased in blocks of 10 or 50, and the price per meal is consistent, regardless of the supplemental meal plan you choose.

If you are graduating, studying abroad, transferring, have been approved to live off-campus, or are otherwise NOT returning to Campus Housing next fall, you must fill out the Non-Returning Resident Form by May 6th to be eligible to receive your $100 housing deposit refunded. If you desire, you may also donate your housing deposit towards any number of areas. If you plan on living on-campus at any point in the future, it is easiest to leave your housing deposit with the University. Housing Deposits are generally refunded to a student's official, permanent address by the end of June, provided the form has been completed by May 6th, and there are no current charges on the student's account.
Having problems figuring out how to fill out the form? Hope these answers help!
What's the deal with the Unique Housing Code?
If you are a current residential student, you were emailed your Unique Housing Code on April 17. If you do not currently live on campus, but want to live on campus next year, please email reslife@uu.edu, include your full name and student ID, and we will send you your Unique Housing Code. Here's how it should work:
It may be easiest to sit down with your roommates and fill out all of your forms at once. If not, you do need to be sure that you have all of your roommates' Unique Housing Codes before filling out your form. Please also be sure that you all put the same roommates in the correct bedrooms.
