The History program at Union University prepares students to understand the past through the study of American, European, Latin American, and church history — developing critical thinking, research skills, and cultural awareness. The program culminates in a senior seminar requiring an original research paper, preparing graduates for graduate study, education, and careers requiring historical literacy.

What You'll Study

History at Union trains you to think historically — to read primary sources carefully, evaluate evidence rigorously, construct compelling arguments, and understand the sweep of human events within the context of God's purposes in the world. It's one of the most formative intellectual disciplines available.
