A group of First-Year students in red shirts pose and gesture around a bronze bulldog statue on a brick pedestal outdoors. Some face the crowd, while others stand on the pedestal. Trees and a building are in the background.
Three people walk down a wide sidewalk lined with blooming trees on both sides. Two wear UNION sweatshirts, and one wears a brown skirt with a green shirt, showcasing a vibrant 00-Component of campus life. Buildings and grass are visible in the background.

Transfer Frequently Asked Questions

Is there a minimum GPA requirement for students transferring?

Yes. Students must have a 2.3 cumulative GPA in order to be considered for unconditional acceptance.

How many credits are needed in order to transfer?

Transfer students must have a minimum of 24 credit hours from classes taken after graduating high school to transfer. Students with less than 24 hours must apply as freshmen and meet freshmen admission requirements and transfer GPA requirements.

What is your process for evaluating my transcripts?

Official transcripts from all colleges attended are to be sent to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions. Undergraduate Admissions will forward your transcripts to the University Registrar for evaluation if you have applied for admission to the university. We will not officially evaluate your transcripts unless you have an Application for Admission on file in the Office of Undergraduate Admissions. An evaluation report will be emailed to you from the Registrar’s Office. Your Enrollment Counselor will be happy to unofficially review your course work with you, but final determination of the transferability of the courses rest with the Registrar. Your academic status is based on the cumulative GPA of all accredited post-secondary work attempted.

Fewer than 24 hours?

No problem. You'll apply under our freshman admission and transfer GPA requirements, and your counselor will walk you through exactly what that looks like.

GPA below 2.3?

Not an automatic no. Your file gets a personal review by our Admissions & Retention Committee, which means a real person looks at your full story, not just a number.
