Jennifer Smith Byrd

About
Dr. Jennifer Byrd received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center, and completed an ASHP-accredited pharmacy practice residency with an emphasis in ambulatory care at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, MS. Dr. Byrd is a Board Certified Ambulatory Care Pharmacist and holds the Board Certified-Advanced Diabetes Management credential. She is an active member of the Tennessee Pharmacists Association and has previously served on the Board of Directors and as a member of the Ambulatory Care/Collaborative Practice Committee. She has served as Chair of the Tennessee Society of Pharmacists. She is faculty advisor for the Zeta Epsilon chapter of the Kappa Psi Pharmaceutical Fraternity. As Associate Professor of Pharmacy Practice, Dr. Byrd teaches in various courses throughout the curriculum primarily focused on chronic disease management. She provides clinical pharmacy services at The Jackson Clinic in the Internal Medicine/Family Practice Department and Cardiology Department. Her collaborative, interprofessional practice serves as a experiential site for pharmacy students completing their ambulatory care Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experiences.
