About

Johnny Jines is an Adjunct Instructor in Criminal Justice and Sociology at Union who retired from the Jackson Police Department (JPD) following a 30-year career in law enforcement.  Dr. Jines served in numerous capacities during his career, including certification as an expert witness in Traffic Crash Reconstruction and serving as Executive Officer of that Unit.  Additionally, he served as coordinator of the JPD Crisis Intervention Team and Homeless Outreach Team and an active Crime Scene Technician.  Dr. Jines has continued to provide training to the JPD as well as area Constables and Sheriff’s Offices. He is a lifetime member of Crisis Intervention International and a long-time member of the National Association on Mental Illness (NAMI), having served as a past president of the Madison County Chapter of NAMI.
