Anne Wilson to headline Union University Scholarship Banquet Dec. 1
- August 20, 2026
JACKSON, Tenn. — Recording artist Anne Wilson will provide the featured entertainment at the 28th annual Union University Scholarship Banquet Dec. 1 at the Carl Perkins Civic Center in Jackson.
A Lexington, Kentucky, native, the 24-year-old Wilson signed with Capitol Christian Music Group as a teenager and broke through in 2021 with her debut single, “My Jesus,” written in the wake of her older brother Jacob’s death in a car accident. The song became the first debut single by a female Christian artist to reach No. 1 on Billboard’s Christian Airplay chart, earned a Grammy nomination for her 2022 debut album of the same name and has since been certified double platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America.
“Anne Wilson’s music speaks with a rare authenticity to a generation navigating both deep faith and real hardship,” Union University President Samuel W. “Dub” Oliver said. “Her story of turning grief into a testimony of God’s faithfulness resonates far beyond the Christian music charts, and we’re excited to welcome her to Jackson for an evening that celebrates the generosity of our Scholarship Banquet supporters.”
Wilson’s 2024 sophomore album, “Rebel,” produced the chart-topping ballad “Strong” and featured collaborations with Lainey Wilson, Jordan Davis and Chris Tomlin. Wilson’s third studio album, “Stars,” released in October 2025, debuted on multiple Billboard charts and reflects her ongoing blend of country storytelling and Christian faith.
The annual Scholarship Banquet is one of the premier events in West Tennessee each year with leading businesses and individuals as sponsors. FirstBank and Elite Contractors are the lead sponsors for the 2026 banquet.
Other sponsorships for the event are available at various levels. For ticket information, including table sponsorships and individual balcony seating, contact Union’s Office of Institutional Advancement at (731) 661-5050 or visit www.uu.edu/events/scholarship-banquet-2026/.
