CE Opportunity - Save the Date!

The UUSOP will be hosting a CE weekend here in Providence Hall November 6-7, 2015, to coincide with Union University Homecoming Weekend. APhA MTM Certification and Basic Life Support (BLS) courses will be offered on Friday. Four hours of live CE will be offered on Saturday morning. More registration details to come.

PGY1 Residencies

Congratulations to our Class of 2015 who achieved a 94% residency placement rate for PGY1 residencies. UUSOP alumni seeking PGY2 residencies had a 100% match rate. Residencies were obtained at the following institutions:

Presentations

  • Allison Todd (2015) and Erica Rogers (2012) presented their work entitled, The Influence of Functional Health Literacy on Adherence to Heart Health Medications, on three occasions during APhA's Day of Science during the APhA Annual Meeting in San Diego, CA. Those in attendance included researchers and educators in the economic, social, behavioral and administrative sciences. Allison and Erica were the only presenters who were not Ph.D.s or Ph.D. students. Allison and Erica also presented a poster of their work during the Contributed Papers Poster Session.

  • Audrey Elaine Morris Amanda Morris (2013) and her husband Adam welcomed their daughter Audrey Elaine Morris on October 23, 2014.
  • Emmelyn Grace Kirkendol Crystal (Moir) Kirkendol (2012), her husband Troy, and their daughter Camryn welcomed Emmelyn Grace on February 6, 2015.
  • Darcie Kathryn O'Leary Rachel (Hardee) O'Leary (2015) and her husband Kelly welcomed their daughter Darcie Kathryn O'Leary on July 30, 2015.

Marriages

  • Altizer wedding Ashley Altizer (2013) married Brett Toney on July 11, 2015. Ashley is the pharmacist in charge of the 24 hour Walgreens in Germantown and Brett is a PCAP clinical pharmacist at Regional One Medical Center in Memphis.
  • Kimsey wedding Amanda Kimsey (2012) married Wilson Horrell on June 19, 2015, in Southaven, Mississippi. Wilson is the owner of The Gardner's Shadow that serves both the Memphis and North Mississippi area.
