Dean's Corner
Greetings, Friends!
I am happy to bring you a good word from the faculty and staff of the Union University School of Pharmacy! We are doing quite well during these warm summer months as we welcome the incoming Class of 2019.
Wow! Hard to believe how quickly time flies!
Our Class of 2015 graduates have flown the nest and embarked upon a wide variety of residencies and employment all across the country. We miss these members of our pharmacy family already, but are very proud of them and wish them well as they pursue their dreams and attain their goals!
There is much that goes into and accompanies the cycle of life in the world of pharmacy academia. We recruit new students, become familiar with them and their individual uniqueness, nurture them as they become acclimated to the intensity of professional education, and love and mentor them as they mature into qualified, proficient, and compassionate caregivers. It is a beautiful thing to observe the transition that evolves within an aspiring practitioner from admission to graduation.
Ah, please forgive my sentimental meanderings!
But we DO become attached to our students here at the UUSOP. One of the most enjoyable distinctives of this program that I so appreciate is the smaller class size, which allows us to get to know each student personally and invest in each life during the time we have together. As I often say, pharmacy is a "people" business --- no matter in which venue one chooses to practice. What a joy to be able to work with and serve other people! We are the lucky ones, aren't we?
If you are reading this newsletter, we appreciate your interest, support, and involvement in this program. Thank you for reading about the happenings going on in our world. We are blessed at this time to be experiencing great success and fulfillment. We also have some exciting plans coming up in the next few months and are thrilled to share them with you.
I personally invite you to stop by for a visit and see firsthand what is going on here at the Union University School of Pharmacy. We would be happy to have you as our honored guests!
Warmest wishes as we close out the remaining dog days of summer.
And may God's blessings be yours!
Sheila
