Campus Recreation
The Office for Campus Recreation’s Mission is to promote, encourage, and facilitate Christ-centered recreation, health, and wellness to the Union University Community through both formal and informal programming. In addition, we want to create a welcoming atmosphere that fosters positive social interaction, encourages friendly competition, enhances the overall educational experience, and provides an opportunity to develop a healthy lifestyle.

Campus Recreation at Union
Wellness Center
Union University dedicated its new Wellness Center Aug. 19, 2024, officially opening the new fitness facility that is more than four times larger than the previous space.
Hours
Summer 2026 Hours (May 1 – August 15)
- Monday- Friday: 5 a.m. – 8 p.m.
- Saturday: 8 a.m. – 6 p.m.
- Sunday: 2–6 p.m.
Facility Details
The facility includes turf strip, cardio equipment, and all your weightlifting needs. This space provides the space and equipment for everyone to participate in the training they love, from powerlifting to CrossFit to endurance training. The Wellness Center is open to students, faculty, and staff. In addition, we have a new fitness studio inside our facility. This studio hosts yoga, spin, Pilates, HITT, and basics of weightlifting classes on a rotating schedule. The Wellness center houses the offices of our Campus Recreation Staff — here you can request a meeting to work on plans to achieve your fitness goals, whether that be nutritional, weightlifting, or other exercise goals.
Rules & Regulations
- Shirts, tennis shoes, and modest apparel must be worn at all times in the Wellness Centers. Modest apparel includes but is not limited to the prohibition of any cropped shirts, excessive cutoffs, or see through attire.
- All members must have an active membership through EZFacility.
- All community and alumni members must tell the front desk staff their first and last names to check in.
- Children under 13 years of age must be supervised by a parent or legal guardian and must have approval from Ivy-Marie Adkisson, Director of Campus Recreation.
- Guests may purchase a guest pass for a fee of $5 per day. Walk-in guests must seek approval from the director.
- The Wellness Center hours will coincide with all University holidays and closings. These are also updated on the Campus Recreation Instagram
Intramurals
Union students enjoy a vibrant intramural program which is open for anyone to participate. Some of the more popular activities attract several hundred students. They enjoy the fellowship and fun that comes from friendly team competition. Union offers intramural sports such as flag football, sand volleyball, indoor racquetball, basketball, disc golf and more.

Union's campus has several outdoor recreation options like an intramural field, basketball/sand volleyball courts, an 18-hole disc golf course, a 6+ mile wooded trail system, a hammock garden, and several running/walking courses.
