Bio:

Nelda was born in the Jackson area and has lived there all of her life with the exception of living two years in Germany and two years in Knoxville. She received her ASN and BSN from Union University and received her MSN from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. After graduation from Union in 1983 she worked at Jackson Madison County General Hospital where she was staff nurse, head nurse and then supervisor of the Women's Department (OB, GYN). She developed and implemented a Patient Education position at the Women's Clinic in Jackson. Nelda joined the Union faculty in 1983 after she received her BSN. She earned her MSN in 1986 with a double major in Psychiatric Nursing and Womens Health. After working in the Psychiatric Nursing field she returned to Union to teach in the areas of OB and Psychiatric Mental Health.

She is married to Jimmy Webb, OB/GYN who practiced for 33 years at the Women's Clinic and is currently working one day a week at the Public Health Department. She is a board member of the West Tennessee Healthcare Foundation, the Jackson Arts Council and Citizen's Board for Psychiatric/Mental Health.
