"I believe we will
accomplish our goals because there is a real unity of
spirit and vision on campus. We have so many talented
people willing to invest their time and work as a team for
Union."
Dr. Carla
Sanderson, ('81), Provost
"I
think students here have the chance to find out who they
are and what their place is in life. They will
receive so much attention and leave with a real sense of
purpose. I've seen it happen."
Prof. Elsie
Smith, ('60), Associate Professor of Biology |
The daily task of Union University is shaping young lives into
future leaders – with academic excellence crafted through a
distinctively Christian worldview. It is a task that requires
continuing investment and expanded support.
Annual gifts from alumni and other friends enable the
university to support some of the most important things it
provides students. These resources directly support student
financial aid, mission programs of the university, the budgets
of every academic department, Union’s computer information
systems, the library, and both intercollegiate and intramural
athletic teams.
Vitally important is that annual gifts help Union students
and their families by keeping tuition increases to a minimum.
Annual gifts bridge the gap between what the student pays and
the actual cost of a Union University education. Student
tuition alone cannot cover the cost of an
academically-excellent, Christ-centered education – annual
support makes up the crucial difference.
One of the goals of the “Building a Future” Campaign is to
broaden the base of annual, recurring gifts to the university.
Over the course of the campaign the university hopes to
increase the rate of participation of alumni annual giving to
a level of approximately 20 percent, requiring a near doubling
of the current number of annual alumni donors. |
