For nearly two centuries, Union has taken exceptional young
men and women and helped to shape their lives and futures
through Christ-centered education. Union strives to prepare
students to meet life equipped with Christian values and
character – to be men and women of honor and achievement who
will exert a significant influence on their communities and
professions.
At Union, students are not only prepared for careers, but
also for leadership roles. Union’s ability to produce future
leaders depends on its capacity to continue attracting
students of excellent character and academic standing,
regardless of their financial resources.
Top students consistently choose Union. National Merit
Finalists, valedictorians, salutatorians, and many other
academically excellent students fill Union’s student body year
after year. Although gifts and support of others help offset
the actual cost of providing education to these students, it
is nevertheless a challenge for many families.
More than 80 percent of Union’s students receive some form
of financial aid, including academic, leadership, athletic and
need-based scholarships. The magnitude of their need will grow
as costs rise. Additional resources are urgently needed,
particularly in the form of endowed scholarships and financial
aid funds. The “Building a Future” campaign seeks to build a
solid base of student support through $7 million in additional
endowment funding for student financial aid needs. Such
support will help to ensure the quality of Union’s student
body for years to come, and will help make the Union
experience available to worthy young men and women for whom it
would otherwise be unattainable. |
