Part of Union’s Discipline-Specific Honors Program, honors in mathematics is designed to offer our brightest students an opportunity to develop a deeper understanding of mathematical processes and research than is typically gained by an undergraduate mathematics major. The program consists of four honors-contract upper-level courses taken during the junior and senior years, to include an honors project. Application should typically be made toward the end of the sophomore year or, for transfer students, the end of the first semester at Union. A discussion with the department chair is part of the application process.
