The Judas Iscariot Suicide Prevention Program

Director of the Institute for Intellectual Discipleship

July 21, 2010 - The calculated murder of an innocent human being is a dehumanizing act. It not only dehumanizes the victim; it degrades the humanity of the perpetrator. This is the why the killer, insofar as he wishes to retain a psychological-semblance of his humanity, must avoid coming to terms with the truth about his action. As long as he does not have to face the fact that he is murdering another human being, he can continue to deceive himself into believing that he has done nothing inhumane.

This is why the leading serial killers of our day, also known as proponents of abortion, so vehemently oppose legislation like Oklahoma’s HR 2780, which would require a woman seeking an abortion to come face-to-face with the truth of what she is about to do by receiving a pre-abortion ultrasound. According to one opponent, the law is “abusive” to women.

The opposition makes perfect sense. A woman who is about to consent to a third-party slaughter of her own child is more likely to suffer more intense psychological harm if she must, immediately prior to the termination, watch her unsuspecting baby blissfully bouncing around in her womb. It would be easier neither to have to look at the betrayed nor to face the Dominical utterances of conscience saying, “What you must do, do quickly.”

But the abuse is not in the law. It is self-inflicted. For the dehumanizing harm accrues to the perpetrators whether they confront the truth of what they have done or not. The prior confrontation merely serves as an occasion, perhaps only a fragile moment, for hope. The hope is that when confronted by the reality of the act, the humanity of the both the victim and the killer(s) might override the attempts to suppress inhumanity of the Reptilian intention.

Still, the Serpent is subtle. He whispers to the woman, “You will not surely die . . .”

Jesus’ prophetic words from the Gospel of John cut through the obfuscation mounted by the proponents of abortion who wish to suppress to the truth: “You are of your father the devil, and your will is to do your father's desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, and has nothing to do with the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks out of his own character, for he is a liar and the father of lies.”

The Oklahoma law is a suicide prevention program. But the children of the devil – the defenders of so-called “reproductive rights” – continue to perpetuate their father’s Edenic lie. Meanwhile, the woman destroys her humanity – one “choice” at a time.
